This shop-site is a on-person "company". It began many years ago when I moved into a new flat with boring white tiles in the toilet.
So I began to ‘decorate’ them with slips of paper bearing wise quotations. It was then, when I thought the first time, that it would be fine to have stickers with this quotes at hand. Since my twenties, I had a knack for saying clever things, and my eldest son sometimes teased me about it.
In April, I discovered TikTok as a medium for wise quotes, and since then #weissnicht has been posting daily from an inexhaustible pool of stoic and other wise quotes, deliberately kept as simple as possible.
Marcus Aurelius wrote "The things you think about determine the quality of your mind. Your soul takes on the color of your thoughts."
Your soul takes on the color of your thoughts. Think about that! He is so right. This is how our brain as a self organizing organ is functioning.
And it is also more than 2000 years ago that Plato stated: "Reality is created by the mind. We can change our reality by changing our mind." Modern Psychology say the same.
My special experience with TikTok told me, that wisdom can not beat beauty (LOL) but some hope for the world is left. Wisdom is not for everybody - only for those who love it.
To make this clear. It is not about an intellectual discours about philosophy. It is about to listen or to read a quote and "feel" the truth in it. This is, how beautiful thoughts color the soul.
